My name is Lydia and I recently turned 30 years old. I currently reside in Florida with my husband and several plants
I was married in June 2020, in a secret location with a lot of people (I don’t do following ridiculous rules well). My husband does a really complicated job with computers and works from home, so I get to annoy him throughout the day.
I received my B.A. in English (’14) and M.A.T. Secondary Education, ELA (’18) both from Liberty University.
I am the oldest of three siblings. I was born and mostly raised in upstate New York. I grew up in a Christian household, but that does not mean that I came from a very secure childhood. My father was in the military and was gone for several years while serving our country overseas. My mother dealt with untreated mental health issues that made living at home a trial. The legalism that was taught by my mother led me to a crisis of faith at the age of 17. At that point of life I wanted to walk away from the church. Thankfully, God got ahold of my heart in 2010 and I haven’t thought twice about leaving him since then.
I have learned a lot about the importance of recognizing and treating mental health issues as a result of the experience. I was also diagnosed with Hashimotos in 2021, which has increased my passion for pursuing great physical health, too.
I have a heart for people, especially women, and my goal in life is to help equip others with the knowledge and the power to make their lives better.
I want to create a place for women from all walks of life to come together and share their experiences. I want this page to be a place where you can feel like you’ve accomplished something in your life. I want you to be encouraged that God is not as far away as the church has made Him in Western society.
I want you to know that seeking God can make you a Proverbs 31 woman even when you do not feel like you are there yet.
I often feel like I am Not Yet 31 — but God’s sanctifying grace in me makes up for the lack.
